Chicken Paradise
Ingredients:
1 whole chicken, cleaned and pat-dried
1 tablespoon minced ginger
6 cloves garlic, crushed
5 pieces mushrooms, soaked in water then sliced
1/4 piece chicken bouillon cube
1/2 cup all-purpose cream
2 teaspoon cornstarch, dissolved in 1 teaspoon water
Stuffing:
1 piece medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 cup cooked malagkit (sticky) rice
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 can Del Monte Fresh Cut Pineapple Tidbits, drained (reserve syrup)
1 stalk leek, sliced
Directions:
1. Saute’ green onions and bell pepper in 2 tbsp oil. Remove from pan.
2. Using the same pan, add 2 tbsp oil and sauté pork for 2 minutes. Stir in curry powder and cook for another minute. Add flour mixture, bouillon cube, DEL MONTE Spaghetti Sauce, 1/4 tsp iodized fine salt( or 3/4 tsp iodized rock salt) and 1/8 tsp pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat.
3. Add green onions, bell pepper, peas and corn. Cook for 1 minute.
A Very Special Love starring Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz
A Very Special Love is a romantic-comedy film featuring the first team-up of the Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo and Box Office King John Lloyd Cruz on the big screen. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 27,765 out of 64,459 passed the Nurse (First Timers, Repeaters, Removals) Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last June 2008. The result of examination with respect to one (1) examinee was withheld pending final determination of her liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.
The members of the Board of Nursing are Carmencita M. Abaquin, Chairman; Leonila A. Faire, Betty F. Merritt, Perla G. Po, Marco Antonio C. Sto.Tomas, Yolanda C. Arugay and Amelia B. Rosales.
Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 1 piece 1" x 1" picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2008-2011. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination in Manila as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19 and 20, 2008, with morning (8:00 A.M.) and afternoon (1:00 P.M.) sessions at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. All must come in their white gala uniform, nurses cap, white duty shoes, without earrings, hair not touching the collar and without corsage.

2 pkgs casava, defrosted (frozen, grated from the Asian store) 1 can coconut milk 1 egg 1 cup sugar 1/2 can of condensed milk
Directions: 1. Mix all the ingredients together, except for the condensed milk. Put mixture in a rectangular pan and cook in a 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes.
2. After 45 minutes of baking, pour 1/2 can of condensed milk on top of casava cake and spread. Put back in the oven for another 20 minutes or until top has browned.
Ingredients: 1 kilo of uncut pork belly 4 tbsps. of vinegar 6 tbsps. of dark brown sugar 1 whole garlic 1 whole onion 1 laurel leaf 20 peppercorns a bunch of dried oregano (available in the spice section of supermarkets and vegetable stalls in wet markets) 2 heaping tbsps. of undrained tausi (canned tausi is available in supermarkets) meat broth or water chopped cilantro for garnish (optional, but recommended)
Directions: 1. Lay the pork belly on a chopping board. With a sharp knife, make incisions about half an inch deep on the rind, running the entire width of the pork belly about half an inch apart. Place the pork belly on a baking dish, skin side up, and grill in a very hot oven (200oC) for about 30 to 40 minutes or until the rind is very well browned, puffed and crisp.
2. Place the pork belly in a cooking pan. Pour enough broth (or water) to reach about 3/4 of its height. Add the whole garlic, whole onion, peppercorns, tausi, oregano, vinegar, sugar and laurel leaf. Cover tightly and simmer for an hour to an hour and a half. Add more broth or water if the liquid dries up before the pork is thoroughly cooked.
3. Transfer the pork to a chopping board and cut through the incisions. Arrange on a serving platter. Strain the sauce and pour over the pork. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb Pork riblets or pork ribs, cut to pieces
5 cup water
4 medium tomatoes, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 medium icicle radish, cut into 1″ pieces
1/4 pound green beans
1/2 pound cabbage
5 medium sampaloc (tamarind)
Directions:
1. In a large pot, bring water and pork to a boil. Add tomatoes, onion,
salt and tamarind. Simmer 1 hour or until pork is tender.
2. Optional: Remove tamarind and mash with some broth. Strain juice back
into pot.
3. Taste for seasoning. Bring to a boil. Add green beans and radish. for
10 minutes.
4. Add spinach, cover and remove from heat. Let stand 5 minute to finish
cooking spinach.

Ingredients: 1 k. chicken, sliced to serving portions 1/2 cup vinegar 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/4 tsp. pepper, coarsely ground 1 small bay leaf 2 cloves garlic, crushed 3 tbsps. cooking oil Directions: 1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Marinate for 30 minutes. 2. Transfer to a pan, cover and simmer until chicken is tender. 3. Drain and set sauce aside. 4. Fry chicken pieces in a heated skillet with oil until brown. 5. Add sauce and simmer till sauce is reduced. Serve hot.
Oh my goodness, I can't believe that my favorite Philippine tv series LOBO is finally over. I love watching the series because of Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin. They look so good together. Not to mention, they're both good in acting too. I just hope ABS-CBN will give them another project someday, soon! Lobo was promoted in ABS-CBN together with Kung Fu Kids and Palos as part of ABS-CBN's 55th anniversary celebration. The series was part of the great January 28, 2008 network promotion.
The Miss Universe 2008 beauty pageant will be held at the Crown Convention Center (Diamond Bay Resort) in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008, where outgoing titleholder Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori will crown her successor. The 80 contestants are expected to compete in the event which will be broadcast via NBC to TV outlets in more than 180 countries. The final presentation show is on July 8, the dress rehearsal on July 13 and the live telecast on July 14.
